Movies that feel like The Bed Sitting Room (1969)
In the hazy aftermath of World War III, the fallout from a 'nuclear misunderstanding' is producing strange mutations amongst the survivors, and the noble Lord Fortnum finds himself transforming into a bed sitting room.
If you loved The Bed Sitting Room, the closest films we have are A Boy and His Dog (1975), Delicatessen (1991) and Sexmission (1984). All three share The Bed Sitting Room's witty and playful feel, which is what we rank on before quality.
Seen the big three already? The under-the-radar pick below is I'm All Right Jack (1959).

If The Bed Sitting Room hit the spot, these will too
Both are working the same pair: dystopia, life after the end
Trades the dark humor of The Bed Sitting Room for an angle of its own
One thread runs through both: dystopia
Easier on the dark humor than The Bed Sitting Room
Both land wit and play at once
Cerebral and darkly funny in the same breath
Comedy with a pulse of wit, in both cases
Made in the 2010s, in a different era of the craft
Bleak science fiction in both cases
Comedy built on play, twice over
Darkly funny science fiction, and it commits to that
Both lean on ideas more than on comedy
Both lean on wit more than on science fiction
