Movies that feel like Some Kind of Heaven (2021)
Behind the gates of a palm-tree-lined fantasyland, three residents and one interloper at America's largest retirement community strive to find happiness.
If you loved Some Kind of Heaven, the closest films we have are The Truffle Hunters (2020), The Dog (2013) and We Live in Public (2009). All three share Some Kind of Heaven's contemplative feel, which is what we rank on before quality.
Seen the big three already? The under-the-radar pick below is Hands on a Hardbody: The Documentary (1997).

If Some Kind of Heaven hit the spot, these will too
Contemplative documentary, and it commits to that
Contemplative documentary in both cases
Both lean on stillness more than on documentary
Both know what they want from documentary
The scrappier of the two with critics
Both are documentary through and through
Leans harder into drama than Some Kind of Heaven does
The documentary is handled with the same confidence
Documentary approached the same way
Documentary in the same key
Both play documentary straight
Made in the 1990s, in a different era of the craft
Both working the same documentary territory
Documentary of the same temperament
The same documentary instincts
